In this session, Alister will discuss how the practice of mindfulness can teach leaders how to develop higher levels of self-awareness and intentionality in their actions.
3. Body Awareness: 5-Minute Relaxation Technique
For times when you are feeling a little overwhelmed or anxious, this five minute body awareness exercise will bring you back to the present moment and free you from stressful thoughts. This relaxation exercise can be done at any time of day and is most effective when you sit in a chair with your feet firmly on the floor; but find the most comfortable seated position that works for you. Give yourself this little break to feel calm, happy and balanced.
4. Goal Setting Exercise
When we goal set, we create a clear outcome for the future. When we have a clear outcome for the future, we are naturally pulled towards it. We sub-consciously implant an intention in our minds.For this exercise you can visualize your answers to each question or write them down. You can do this exercise with your eyes closed or open.
5. Mindful Tea Drink For Happiness
Mindful tea drinking is a pleasant and practical way to bring mindfulness into your daily life. It is an easy but effective way to remind yourself to be conscious in the now, not worrying about the past or feeling anxious about the future. In this session, Julie will explain how she practices mindful tea drinking and shares her special happy tea tonic recipe.
6. Creativity Visualisation
Creativity can be expressed in many forms, through art, words, writing, music, design - the list goes on. In this exercise you will access the creative side of your mind mind, by practicing some creative writing, imagination and visualization. You can go-ahead and find a piece of paper and a pen to write down your thoughts or you can do this exercise as a visualization with your eyes closed.
7. Mindful Productivity
In this busy world, time-management and productivity are hot topics. Everyone wants to know how they can get on top of their to-do list. In this session Alister will share a a number of mindfulness practices, we can use each day to become more aware of the way we use and misuse time. Discover a number of simple tools and techniques you can use to greatly improve productivity and get more out of your day.
8. Simple Positive Mindset Exercise
If you want to change your life and feel happier, the first thing to change is the relationship you have with your thoughts. Regardless of how successful, confident and healthy we are, everyone experiences moments of self-doubt and negative thought patterns. In this exercise, Julie will guide you through a simple five minute 'positive mindset' exercise that will allow you to reset your thinking and focus your attention towards more optimistic and happy thoughts.
9. Meditation for Fearlessness
In this 10-minute meditation, you will focus on inner strength and purpose.
10. Conflict Resolution Exercise
In this exercise, you will learn to connect your thoughts with your heart, rather than your head, during times of tension and conflict with others. In this mindful practice you will learn to recognize the triggers in your body that cause you to become agitated and stressed by confrontation and conflict. Practice this exercise as often as you feel you need.
