This can lead you to feel overwhelmed, anxious or panicked, making difficult situations even harder to cope with. One way of regaining your mental focus from an intensely emotional state is through the use of grounding techniques. In this session, Dr Catherine will show youa simple technique you can use when feeling overwhelmed to calm yourself and refocus.
2. Daily Gratitude Practice
Did you know that taking note of what you are grateful for and going out of your way to thank the people in your life can improve your mental and physical health? In this session, Julie will guide you through a few simple steps you can take to be more grateful and optimistic each day.
3. Instant Relaxation Exercise
The first step to overcoming stress and feeling more relaxed is understanding why we become stressed in the first place. In this session, Dr. Catherine will discuss how stress affects the body and mind. She will explain the difference between acute and chronic stress as well the various signs and symptoms of stress. As you become more aware of the experiences, people and circumstances that are causing you to stress you can start to implement stress reducing habits and practices. The session will end with a progressive muscle relaxation exercise which will have you feeling instantly more calm, balanced and relaxed.
