Where do you live, work, and play?

I just moved to North County San Diego and am celebrating that move by exploring my surroundings. I love to walk, run and hike around San Diego, Encinitas, Carlsbad and Leucadia. It is absolutely beautiful here! I also love to take new classes to expand my health and fitness arena. I am all about balance, sustainability and longevity for life. I work for NAFC, a certification company and an education company. I also work for myself as a fitness, health and wellness lifestyle coach. I am doing all these activities and experiences slowly and with joy and precision so that I keep a sustainable and maintainable pace! Balance with joy.

How do you spend your days?

Regardless of the day, I start each day with mindful meditation, whether it be a thought or a word. I make it a point to focus on joy. During the week, I work inside. So I always make it a point to walk outside to see, feel and enjoy the sun and my surroundings. I make it a point to find joy in all that I do and find beauty in everything I see. Then after work, I walk or run somewhere and sometimes end up in a gym, on the beach or in a mountain. And I love being outside to see the cloudy or clear night sky. I make it a point to connect with the moon and stars. I love to express my gratitude during this time. It acts as a way to ground myself and connect with nature and my surroundings. On the weekends, I enjoy being outside as much as possible, moving, walking and running.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about helping others find the joy within themselves through movement and mind body connection. I enjoy helping others find their own relationship with mind, body and soul and watching it flourish.

I believe that everyone can do so if they choose so! And I love helping them blossom into their true self and pure being through health, fitness and wellness.

How did your journey to a healthy lifestyle begin?

The question is really when did my journey to wellness begin because I have been active since I was a very little girl. I was swimming and playing tennis by the age of two, and then I became an elite international gymnast by 12. I became a NCAA Division I swimmer and springboard diver in college, followed by a nationally sponsored bikini bodybuilder athlete.

Do you have any role models? If so, who are they?

Role models, per say no. However, I enjoy Mother Teresa, Louise Hays, Oprah Winfrey and Audrey Hepburn.

How do you define wellness?

do you define wellness? Feeling good, inside and out: mentally, psychologically, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

How do you make wellness a priority?

I think about my wellness in everything that I do. From the moment I wake, my thoughts and mindset outline my day in hopes to shape my well being for life.

What advice do you have for anyone that is trying to incorporate more yoga into their lives?

Start with a thought and an intention, and the rest will follow. If there is a will, there is a way, even if that thought is small, it will grow and manifest into an action if the desire is strong.
Thankfully, there are sites such as Grokker that help introduce you to yoga so that you can learn to create a positive and healthy environment no matter the circumstances and make it sustainable for life.

What is your spirit animal?

Many animals appeal to me throughout my life as I continue to evolve, as do my spirit animals. I have always been associated with the Dolphin. Yet, lately I have been influenced by the dragonfly, owl and butterfly. A lot of change surrounds, and I am excited to welcome and embrace it with an open heart and open arms.

What is your theme song?

It definitely has to be from Disney's Frozen, Let it Go. I also like the message from Pixar's Brave with Merida's theme song, Touch the Sky. Both songs have a positive and empowering message to embrace your individuality and unique gifts where the sky is the limit!

Any final words of wisdom?

Life is ever evolving and ever so giving. It is a beautiful gift. So keep an open mind, open heart and be willing to receive the abundance of gifts that the universe offers you throughout your life. Everything in this life, including life itself, is truly a blessing and certainly a gift.
