Meditative, long held stretches bypass superficial muscle layers to penetrate deep into connective tissues and joints. Passive postures are typically supported with props, and practiced close to the floor to feel fully received and held by gravity, and the earth beneath. In Yin yoga, you'll take mindful time to explore the edges of your tolerance, in a safe, quiet, and deeply healing space. Postures are held for 3 to 5 minutes, sometimes longer.
