Hi, I see lots of stuff on Youtube etc about chair tai chi and similar taichi workouts for over 50's at "only 7 minutes per day" - any insights into these programs?

Greetings! I am just a regular Grokker user like you, not a licensed professional. This video sums up my take: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-M3zsOGSjs

The real tai chi is very healthy. It won't help with rapid weight loss, but it certainly may yield serenity and satisfaction. If you wish to spend money on courses that teach REAL tai chi, I recommend David Dorian-Ross. His courses are available on hard-copy DVD, for streaming with "The Great Courses".... or, most conveniently for me personally, for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

I also recommend Qigong as taught by the articulate Mimi Kuo-Deemer. She is a Stanford-educated Californian who trained in China, and who now lives in the U.K. You may find her Qigong videos for free on YouTube, or for purchase via her own website/Vimeo, via New Shoot Pictures at https://vimeo.com/newshoot/vod_pages, and via the Commune platform at www.onecommune.com.

Good luck! Here is a Grokker collection that you might enjoy! :) https://grokker.com/yoga/collection/qigong-and-taoflow/603ea838b356ab7d31b81cf2
