I usually refrian from doing yoga because the palms of my hands always hurt, Do you know why that is?

You can still enjoy yoga without having pain in your hands with the following tips:

Warm up gently before placing your full weight on your hands.
Try to lengthen and strengthen the muscles around your wrists.
Spread your fingers and try to grip the floor while evenly distributing your weight during a pose.
You can also modify any pose by making fists or going onto your forearms instead of using your palms.
