How do you mirror your screen to stream Grokker through chromecast. I'm so disappointed that I can't figure out how to stream the app from my iphone since this was my whole intention of getting the premium membership.

Kelli Bauer Thank you for your note, and I apologize for the confusion! Chromecast is best compatible with Grokker from an Android Phone or Tablet. You can also try to cast your Chrome browser from your computer, or mirror your iPhone screen using the chromecast app. It's a bit clunkier, but often works!

Additionally, if you have an Apple TV, you can stream Grokker from the app to your television.

I hope this solves your problem! Please email support@grokker.com if you run into additional problems.

Never mind my post above! I couldn't delete it.

Fortunately, I have an Android tablet, and after re-reading the posts, I figured out that my Apple phone was not going to work with the Google streamer, but my Android tablet would work with the Google streamer, so I'm all good. Now I can work out using my television and use my premium subscription. Thanks, Grokker 😊

I'm confused. At first it appears you can cast to your tv using Chromecast, then it sounds like you can't and are working on it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use my Google chromecast with Grokker. And I've been paying now for a premium membership and not using it. I have an IPhone 6 and the Chromecast. I've also downloaded the Grokker app on my iPhone. My phone shows it's connected to my tv, when I'm in the Chromecast app... But there appears to be no simple way to cast Grokker, as if it's possible, it's screaming out to me how to do it when I'm in the app or in the website using Safari. So what gives?

Lisa Hunt Hi Lisa! We're working to make Grokker available on as many devices and systems as possible. Although I don't have a date for you on official Chromecast compatibility, it's definitely something we're thinking about!

Oh no I just got a chromecast thinking it would work with my iPad. It's half the price of AppleTV. Any plans to make the app compatible? Thanks :)

Diane,

Do you have an Apple TV or any other streaming device? With iOS, this would be the easiest way to stream Grokker to your TV. You can simply use the Airplay function on your device, and it would mirror to your TV. If you have a PC, you can use an HDMI cable to connect your iOS device to your TV. If you don't have an Apple TV or an HDMI cable, there are ways you can still mirror your device to your TV, but they may require a bit more work. I found this article which highlights a few:

We hope to introduce even more ways to get Grokker onto your TV in the future.

Kelly Duncan - No problem! Glad to hear that you're able to cast your video!

Lauren Kasner, this is excellent, thank you! The only thing I noticed is that (after making it full screen) I have to tap on the top left corner of my device to make the Chromecast icon appear. Once it does, it casts just fine.

Thank you again!

Kelly Duncan - I have some good news for you! We made some big improvements to our video player yesterday, so you should now be able to stream Grokker to your Chromecast directly from your phone.

You'll need to use the Chromecast app to connect your device to your Chromecast, but once you do so, you should see the icon when you're in full screen mode. Here are some basic instructions to get you started:

1) Launch the Chromecast app on your Android device
2) Select Cast Screen (you won't actually be casting your screen - this is just to connect your device to the Chromecast)
3) Select the Chromecast

4) Now, open your mobile browser and go to Grokker
5) Find the video you want to play
6) Click on the opposite facing arrows to transition it to full screen mode
7) At the top left corner, you should see the Chromecast icon which should cast it to your TV

Let us know how this works for you! If you have any further questions, feel free to email us directly at support@grokker.com

Kelly Duncan - thanks for reaching out to us! Right now, you can mirror your screen through Chromecast using the Chromecast app on your Android device. To do this, download and launch the Chromecast app if this is your first time using it.

-Click on "Devices" to make sure your Chromecast and your Android device recognize each other
-From the drop down navigation, select "Cast Screen"
-Open Grokker on your Android device using the Google Chrome browser
-Select a video to watch, and start playing!

We are also in the midst of making the Chromecast experience for Android users more seamless. There will soon be an icon on the actual video screen that, when clicked, will cast the actual video directly to your TV through the Chromecast. This will improve the quality of the stream, and make the whole experience easier for you!

Hope this helps. If you have any further quesitons, please don't hesistate to let us know.

I signed up for Premium membership so that I can stream Grokker videos from my Android phone or tablet to my TV, but I don't see the Chromecast icon anywhere on Grokker. My Chromecast is working from both devices, just not on Grokker. Am I missing something?
