Are you asking about using it as a drink sweetener or for cooking?

I prefer natural sources like local honey, lemon or real maple syrup which all have health benefits.

While agave has a lower glycemic index and tastes sweeter than sugar, it is high in fructose, (even more than high fructose corn syrup) which can increase insulin resistance and cause more fat storage than glucose in the long run. High fructose is also linked to diabetes, cancer and not best for a healthy gut. While it looks good on paper (calories, glycemic index, tastes sweeter) the net impact may be doing more harm than good especially when used alot.

Always aim for whole foods that balance out the natural sugars (lower in fructose) with fiber. Cinnamon and mint are also two great things to sneak in as much as you can to manage blood sugar
