Born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador, John Paul Carmona spent much of his early life helping his father at the family farm, and learning to cook from his grandmother when she visited from California. He attended culinary school at the Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, and after graduating he worked at prestigious restaurants such as Clio in Boston, Alinea in Chicago, and Mugaritz in San Sebastián, Spain. Carmona is now the Chef de Cuisine at Manresa in Los Gatos where he incorporates all of his early influences into his dishes. His unique style and deep passion for food has led Manresa to a two Michelin star rating for the last 4 consecutive years.READ FULL BIO
