1 whole pineapple
1. Cut off the crown and the bottom.
2. Place pineapple upright on cutting board. Cut off the outer rind by cutting in approximately 1/4 inch following the contour of the pineapple. Go back and cut off any remaining tips/pineapple eyes.
3. To cut the pineapple into rings, slice a half inch section of the whole pineapple and use a ring cutter or paring knife to cut out the core in the middle.
4. Alternatively you can cut the pineapple into small pieces by first cutting the pineapple into quarters. Run your knife parallel to the cutting board to remove the visible core from each of the quarters. Then cut the remaining pineapple into pieces that are the size and shape you desire.
