There isn't a dessert that candied nuts don't go well with! In this Grokker Premium video, pastry Chef Emily Luchetti gives you a baking basic by demonstrating a step by step process on how to make candied nuts that you, your family, and guests will love on chocolate cake, store-bought ice cream, or almost any dessert.

Cooking Recipe

Servings/Yields: 2 cups of nuts
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 16 minutes
Ready In: 21 minutes
Make Sure You Have: A rubber spatula, a metal sheet pan, and a small sauce pan.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp corn syrup
Pinch of salt
2 cups whole almonds, slivered (substitute with any nuts)

Directions:
1. In a pot over medium heat add water, sugar, corn syrup, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the sugar turns clear, then bring to a boil.

2. Once the mixture has come to a boil, turn off the heat, add almonds, and stir until all of the nuts are evenly coated.

3. Spread nuts evenly onto a baking tray. Place in a 350°F oven for 5-8 minutes. Remove from oven and stir the nuts, then place them back in the oven for another 5-8 minutes until all of the nuts are golden brown.

4. To easily remove the nuts from the pan, take them off before they get cold.

Enjoy!
