Make Sure You Have: A rubber spatula, a metal sheet pan, and a small sauce pan.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp corn syrup
Pinch of salt
2 cups whole almonds, slivered (substitute with any nuts)
Directions:
1. In a pot over medium heat add water, sugar, corn syrup, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the sugar turns clear, then bring to a boil.
2. Once the mixture has come to a boil, turn off the heat, add almonds, and stir until all of the nuts are evenly coated.
3. Spread nuts evenly onto a baking tray. Place in a 350°F oven for 5-8 minutes. Remove from oven and stir the nuts, then place them back in the oven for another 5-8 minutes until all of the nuts are golden brown.
4. To easily remove the nuts from the pan, take them off before they get cold.
