Positivity goes a long way in helping you to build a happier life. An affirmation is a statement we say to ourselves in order to re-wire our thoughts. Much like exercise, the repetition of positive affirmations can raise our level of feel-good hormones and completely change our mood. In this session Julie will share with you, four of her favourite positive affirmations for greater confidence, self-love and gratitude.
2. Simple Positive Mindset Exercise
If you want to change your life and feel happier, the first thing to change is the relationship you have with your thoughts. Regardless of how successful, confident and healthy we are, everyone experiences moments of self-doubt and negative thought patterns. In this exercise, Julie will guide you through a simple five minute 'positive mindset' exercise that will allow you to reset your thinking and focus your attention towards more optimistic and happy thoughts.
3. Daily Gratitude Practice
Did you know that taking note of what you are grateful for and going out of your way to thank the people in your life can improve your mental and physical health? In this session, Julie will guide you through a few simple steps you can take to be more grateful and optimistic each day.
4. Mindful Walking Exercise
Mindful walking is an active meditative practice that requires you to be consciously aware of your environment as you walk. The practice of mindful walking brings you closer to nature and to your own body. It also helps to strengthen your concentration and boost your awareness of the world around you. In this session, Julie will discuss the many benefits of mindful walking and her simple tips for getting started.
5. Body Awareness: 5-Minute Relaxation Technique
For times when you are feeling a little overwhelmed or anxious, this five minute body awareness exercise will bring you back to the present moment and free you from stressful thoughts. This relaxation exercise can be done at any time of day and is most effective when you sit in a chair with your feet firmly on the floor; but find the most comfortable seated position that works for you. Give yourself this little break to feel calm, happy and balanced.
6. Conflict Resolution Exercise
In this exercise, you will learn to connect your thoughts with your heart, rather than your head, during times of tension and conflict with others. In this mindful practice you will learn to recognize the triggers in your body that cause you to become agitated and stressed by confrontation and conflict. Practice this exercise as often as you feel you need.
