Being “kind and compassionate” to other people might seem like something we should do “ethically”, but it actually has a much more personal benefit. Research shows that when we practice compassion and kindness for others, we actually become happier. It feels good to have compassion for other people – there’s a lightness that it brings to our mind. In this session, we will practice bringing kindness and compassion first toward ourselves, and once we’ve charged our heart battery a bit we will send it to others.
Instructions
Start by finding a relaxed posture – this could be sitting, lying down, or even standing. If it feels comfortable, you can close your eyes.
